The Solemnity of Christ the King

The King’s Entry into Jerusalem

Exult greatly, O daughter Zion! Shout for joy, O daughter Jerusalem!

Behold: your king is coming to you, a just savior is he,
Humble, and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.”

Zechariah  9:9

The King, riding on a donkey, first in the womb of His Mother to make His entrance into the natural world and finally to Jerusalem to make His return to the Heavenly Kingdom.

We celebrate our King and Savior. on the last Sunday of the Catholic Liturgical Year on November 20th. This Feast Day calls us to reflect on Jesus’ place in our life before we begin our Catholic New Year on the First Sunday of Advent November 27th.

Is Jesus King in my life?

Has He been displaced or given lower status? If so with what?

How will I elevate Jesus to His rightful position in my life during this Advent Season?
